Macbeth Good Vs Evil Essay

Everyone at one point or another has wondered what it was like to live in the days when there were kings and queens. Was it all peace and happiness? Or did it consist of tension and evil? In Scotland in the year of 1606, Shakespeare showed that situations can go from good too bad in a matter of minutes in his drama "The Tragedy of Macbeth." As the title does speak for itself, the main character is Macbeth. Macbeth has a conflict when he has to decide what is best for him, how will he become king; and what will the consequences be. The dominant theme of the drama is good vs. evil and it is shown throughout the story with the conflicts between characters such as Macbeth vs. the witches, Macbeth vs. Banquo, and Macbeth vs. Macduff. To begin one conflict of good vs. evil, Macbeth met with the three witches. At this time, the witches told Macbeth and Banquo what their future would hold. They told Macbeth that he was going to become the Thane of Cawdor then later on be king and they told Banquo he would not become king yet his offspring would. While Macbeth believed the three supernatural figures, Banquo had trouble believing them. Banquo tried to tell Macbeth that they are not what they are cut out to be but he did not want to hear what Banquo has to say.
