earful is a word to describe me I am a soldier in Russia. Russia is in a war against America and we are at the brink of defeat. We are friendly trying to guard our communication and operation bunker. It was like being torn apart from the inside knowing if we lose this we will lose everything
“Sir are you awake?” said Makarov
“Yes I just nearly woke up what is the status on the troops?” I said
Everything is going accordingly they are slowly but surely moving towards us, we have to plan and flank the enemy forces” said Makarov. “No if we need all of our forces inside to see what we are up against but we will send scouts to see what we are up against” I said. “Yes sir I will inform the scout on their mission do you want anything else”? Ordinarily I get up and try to get ready for the horrific battle. It was like preparing for your last birthday.
“Sir it is almost nightfall the battle is about to start” said Makarov.
“Alright let’s go it time to fight whatever happens here will either lose or win us the war” said Karroff
I have to face my fears, I grab my weapon and gear up then I go outside where the scouts are. They are securely hidden in Ghillie suits up on a hill. The Americans flank us then a bomb goes off it was like a car crash it was devastating. It killed one of our soldiers I take my rifle, and fire.

This is not my first war it will most likely be my last I think to myself. I hear a man scream
“ALEX the general is behind that rock!” said John
I shoot the soldier Alex and run to base. I’m looking and I’m telling myself I have to stop before we all die; Russia please forgive us.
“SIR we are losing too many men in this battle, it cannot be won we have to stop” said Makarov.
“No if we stop the battle now we will lose this entire war this is crucial we have to win I’m going out myself again give me cover I’m going to go kill their captain” said

War is a dark time, where both sides end up with scars. This is one of the many thought provoking realities that Pat Carr addresses in the story "Leaving Gilead". It's the kind of truth nobody thinks about until they're in the middle of a battle, and are seeing death on both sides. While peace can only be achieved through war, the aftermath isn't a happy ending for anyone. Nobody wins in war.…

The blue midnight sky was glistening with infinite stars that lay above my slanted head as I watched the twilight moon above me. Glancing down my hand, catching sight of the time gave me the realization that this was actually happening. Months of preparation, years of mental training and the day had come faster than ever. My mind and heart were trapped in the though and mission of protecting and defending my country, the country that gave me everything and was everything. I was 22, they call me Mailto Sonu with a passion of going into the military as a young child, and the curiosity filled in my head of what it would feel like to stand on the rusty, rough, and coarse sand.…
