The difference between the original play and the movie produced in 2015 is that the women were more seductive in the movie than in the play. Another difference between the two works is that in the play the witches were portrayed as old and ugly but in the movie they were older but more human looking. In the play they were described as ugly creatures. “What are these creatures so wrinkled and so wildly dressed?” (Durband, 2005, pg.31) In the movie the witches were shown as more human. They were older women but they still looked human. (Macbeth, 2015) The director made the three witches look less supernatural because they wanted the movie to be more realistic and easier to relate to.
Furthermore there are similarities between the adaption and the play. The play and the movie are similar because the women still influence the men. In Macbeth Lady Macbeth convinces and persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan. “I know your loves worth. Are you afraid to match your acts with your ambitions” (Durnand, 2005, pg.57). Another example is when the witches tell Macbeth the prophecy and Macbeth follows it believing in what the witches tell him. (Macbeth, 2015)
In conclusion the two works are similar yet very different from one another. They were written in completely different time periods which has an effect on the way they are portrayed. Women are sexualized in our generation which is why it is more incorporated in the film than in the original play. Also in our generation people tend to not believe in wise tales unlike how people told supernatural stories in the 1600s. They are also similar because the director wanted to follow the general idea of the unforgettable

Between films and books, it is often seen how different the films tend to be in comparison with the real book story. In the play Macbeth, written by Shakespeare, and the 2015 movie of Macbeth, directed by Justin Kurzel, there are major differences seen. Although the film and the play share many similarities, the changes in the plot that occur during the movie change the flow and results of the situations occurring within the play. In the movie, Justin Kurzel takes away the psychological power Lady Macbeth has over different events, gives a different view of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, and the plot twist caused by Malcolm’s actions. Macbeth the film and Macbeth the play, show how a movie can differ from the actual message and mood the original author is in reality giving.…

I feel like the movie was very similar to the play. Although, there were many differences that I think were sprinkled in, to make it more visually appealing to the audience. For example, the biggest difference between the play and the movie was that the movie started out with all of the girls in the forest, doing witchcraft. I feel that this was a smart idea because it is easier to follow along and understand the big deal of what really happened in the forest, especially when there isn’t a narrator like there is in the play. On the other hand, the play references back to the time that they were in the forests.…

Many of his plays have been adapted into movies; where some of these adaptations fall his plays almost exactly while some have their own take on his plays and are able to change the meaning of the play while still keeping the basics of it. For example, the 2006 movie She’s the Man was adapted from Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night. She’s the Man is a modern version of the play with the same plot, relationships, and character names occurring in both.…

We see the three witches who look into the future and predict that Macbeth will become king of Scotland. In the play “Hamlet” the supernatural scene is shown a little further into the first scene. Hamlet sees his father's ghost. In both cases, Macbeth and Hamlet are not sure that they should believe in what they have been told of the supernatural creatures, and they both choose to have it confirmed by searching for evidence. Macbeth chooses to believe the three witches’ prophecy when he becomes The Thane of Cawdor, which can be seen in this quote: “He bade me, from him, call thee Thane of Cawdor”(Act 1, scene 3, l. 105).…
