Macbeth, a story written by Shakespeare, concludes a story in which has content that is shown effectively and expressed in a couple different ways. The films that were shown such as Roman Polanski, Philip Casson and Rupert Goold had their own techniques of interpreting Macbeth. In this instance, for Act 1 Scene 1 when looking at the witches, all three film clips are focused on the shots to emphasize the witches. For Act 2 Scene 2 when the clips are showing the post murder meeting of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth all films were mainly assimilated on the shots for a visually reference. And lastly. Act 5 Scene 1, the films mainly highlight the actions and lighting aspects of the clip. All three films are effective in their own way. The films show

Beginning with the Roman Polanski film, Polanski was able to give viewers a glance on Lady Macbeth actions and what the lighting was able to portray. In the text she says “Wash put on your nightgown, look not so pale. I tell you again, Banquo’s buried. He cannot come out on’s grave” (Shakespeare 5, 1, 61 - 63). In Polanski film, Lady Macbeth seemed like she was hallucinating in her sleep. Walking around naked, there was only one light that really made her stand out. Though the lighting very dark and gave it a an eerie glow her sleepwalking actions had made the scene look effectively as it was described in the text. In the Philip Casson film, Lady Macbeth didn’t seem as if she was sleepwalking, but more like she was afraid of something. The lighting of the scene had focused on her face as her face is viewed with much emotions and grief. Lastly, in the Rupert Goold film, The lighting of the film is mainly focused on her. As the Doctor and the Gentlewomen are aside from her in the dark, the whole scene has much of it focus on Lady Macbeth and her actions. The light also put its focus on her hands as she tries to wash her confessions away. One thing that all the film have in common is have dark they portray the scene. Though there’s some type of light to show Lady Macbeth’s actions, there was always darkness in the scenes maybe to symbolize how deep she was in her feelings.
