Teddy also believes in false predictions and goes out of his way to find answer about his past and the island. By believing in these prophecies it ultimately leads to their downfall. By believing them it makes MacBeth and Teddy lose sight of their own reality leading both into a mental break.

Not only do these untrue prophecies lead to mental disturbances but they lead them to commit brutal beatings and deaths. MacBeth kills King Duncan by stabbing him over and over with a dagger (Lines 62-64); Teddy neats a man leaving him bruised and broken. MacBeth and Teddy both become remorseful at the end however. Teddy decides that he would much rather die than continue to live with his traumatic past. He accepts his death ultimately and shows a great deal of bravery. MacBeth resembles the same bravery at the end and does not try to run from his death (Lines 30-34). In act 2, scene 2, Lady Macbeth shows strong commitment towards the marriage, as she is willing to do anything to prevent Macbeth from being caught. For example, she says "I'll gild their faces...for it must seem their guilt." This shows that she is thinking of him, and ways to reassure him while he is in a panicked state. She tells him to give her the daggers, so her dominant side is taking over in the relationship once again, much like in earlier scenes where she tends to break the feminine stereotype and fit in better with the masculine one. She says "the sleeping and the dead are but as pictures" which means she is saying they look the same, which may give them extra time to cover up the fact that they have killed King Duncan.…

Between films and books, it is often seen how different the films tend to be in comparison with the real book story. In the play Macbeth, written by Shakespeare, and the 2015 movie of Macbeth, directed by Justin Kurzel, there are major differences seen. Although the film and the play share many similarities, the changes in the plot that occur during the movie change the flow and results of the situations occurring within the play. In the movie, Justin Kurzel takes away the psychological power Lady Macbeth has over different events, gives a different view of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, and the plot twist caused by Malcolm’s actions. Macbeth the film and Macbeth the play, show how a movie can differ from the actual message and mood the original author is in reality giving.…

While the role of women is increasing in the media, it still is rare to see any depictions of assertive women, and even rarer are positive ones. In William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is married to a thane whom she pushes to claim the throne by any necessary, and must deal with the consequences. In Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Nurse Ratched is the most powerful figure in charge of a mental ward and is consistently challenged by one on the inmates, McMurphy. In both Macbeth and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, the authors reject powerful, unsubmissive women by portraying their femininity as a fatal flaw that ultimately brings their demise.…

The Godfather, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, are compositions that are so similarly structured but differ on some intertwining details. Both oeuvres have the principal characters illustrated alike. Macbeth, the Thane of Glamis, and Michael Corleone, son of the godfather, both begin as relegated characters who are somewhat perceived as ineffective and innocent. They are abruptly prone to become extremely different personalities in contrast to their initial portrayals due to family-driven circumstances. Contrarily, Duncan and Vito, Kay and Lady Macbeth are portrayed very differently although harvesting similar end-results.…

The Inevitable Death of Macbeth William Shakespeare, in this tragedy Macbeth, leaves it up to the audience to decide whether it is Macbeth’s fate or his choices that leave him with people cheering at his head being raised on a post. Throughout the play the audience gets to see many occurrences of supernatural powers and also Macbeth’s ambition. These contradicting elements make it difficult for the audience to decide whether the main theme of this play is Macbeth’s fate and the supernatural powers that lead to his death or his choices and ambition. Macbeth’s iconic “Tomorrow” soliloquy captures this main theme of fate and the paranormal. As he goes through the speech, he connects life to a play, which follows a script all the way until the…
