The Disgusting Dish Known as “School-Made Macaroni and Cheese” “You can't just eat good food. You've got to talk about it too. And you've got to talk about it to somebody who understands that kind of food.” And Kurt Vonnegut is right. Good (and bad) foods are meant to be discussed and talked about. The dish that I will be explaining to you today is a not-so-exotic dish called “macaroni and cheese”. You’re thinking “what can go wrong with a mouth-watering plate of Mac ‘n cheese”, right? Well, let me tell you, the dish is extremely wrong if it’s made in school! Okay, imagine yourself sitting at a table, surrounded by all your lovely friends. You just got back from the lunch line and now you’re talking to them. You pick up your “spork” to dig out a spoonful of Mac ‘n cheese and was ready to let it enter your mouth before your friend cracked a joke. A laugh escaped and caused you to drop the Mac ‘n cheese back onto your plate. After calming down from the laughing fit, you resumed eating. This time, there was nothing to stop you from eating your lunch. As soon as the food entered your mouth, you gagged. …show more content…
The macaroni and cheese seemed like any other macaroni and cheese – the entire dish was a glowing yellow-orange color and the macaroni pasta was nicely coated with the moist, creamy cheese. The dish was steamy and hot; the ideal temperature. If you saw the lunch-lady scoop up the macaroni and cheese, you would be able to see that it was the ultimate texture.
