During my two years in United World College, I learnt more valuable knowledge from my peers than I did from the international baccalaureate curriculum and hence really value the importance of a rich environment to study in. Macalester with its wide range of student and staff body gives an individual a platform to live, learn and observe the world through various lenses, instead of just believing their own biased information. In the mission statement of Macalester College it is written that Macalester strives to be a community of internationalism, multiculturalism and service to society. I believe that as an individual I can contribute to the community in all the above three aspects.
