A computer to a student is a car for an adult. It is something that enables me to be better at what I do and is fun to have. I have tried to deal without a computer for school, and it is not fun. My Essays were late, I couldn’t look up the piece of information I needed, and I lost readers on my story because I didn’t update it. It is vitally important for a student like me to be able to do the things they love, and as a writer, having a good computer that can type as quickly as the words come out is not only important but needed. It is the most important part of a writer. But it can’t just be a computer. It has to be a Macbook.

It’s portable, easy to use, fast, and is overall a great computer. It is pricey, but the price is worth it because most Macbooks last at least four years. Even if you don’t love Apple, you have to agree that the Macbooks are one of the best computers out there, especially for a student, or a writer. “The price was great, and it looks almost like Brand New. It boots up and shuts down in the blink of an eye, it's small and light, the keyboard is comfy and easy to type with. It is perfect for web browsing, Office, and even Photoshop and audio apps as well. Very happy with this purchase and definitely recommend this computer” Said an amazon shopper. Another said, “The best purchase so far this year I've

The article “In Defense of Laptops in the Classroom” is written by Rebecca Schuman, an education columnist, for Slate magazine. Schuman writes on issues that affect higher education and this is a relevant topic for her readers which include the general public, professionals in the education sector or even students. The author presents both stances on whether laptops should be used in class and concluded that using laptop in class may not be that unfavourable as it can give students a chance to take responsibility. I agree with Schuman’s viewpoint that students are adults-to-be. Taking responsibility prepares them for the working world as there will not be clearly defined rules in the future.…

Based on personal use and personal preferences people can find a decent laptop for less than $400. Currently, Apple offers just five computer lines: the MacBook Air, the MacBook Pro, the Mac mini, the iMac and the Mac Pro, which means they have less options to choose from based on the value. PC’s once again have several different manufacturers that you can choose from that are more and less expensive than others. It is a simple laptop computer, not high end yet sufficient for my purposes. It is about 15” wide by 6” long, when closed it measures just under an inch in height. It weighs in at about 5lbs. It appears black and color and the top has a matte finish. Though it is simple, this computer provides information on what language I spoke, and if you look through the files you can find information about what subjects I was interested in, what I did in my free time, and my dreams and aspirations.…

Finally, the last criterion to look at is the price of the computer at hand. The MacBook Pro is priced at 1200$ at the moment(Apple Store). That is an outrageous price when you see others that handle as well for half the price. On the other hand, paying more upfront can save you more down the road. The laptop attracts many customers because of its connectivity with other apple products, however; its unnecessary and too pricey.…

PC or Mac The Mac and PC systems have been debated since their inception. The questions consumers ask include: “Which one do you use?” or “Which one do you prefer?” Those questions often initiate a larger discussion into which one is better. My opinion is that both are great instrumental tools of technology but different in major ways that may steer people toward one or the other for personal preference and or usage. The PC is the clear winner when it comes to functionality, features and affordability.…

Since the early 1980’s, computers have proved to be a revolutionary advancement with regards to providing an efficient environment for the American educational system. However, one should note the use of the term efficient. Although computers provide a quick solution to many educational issues, they lack in providing an academic construct for students to build upon in the future. David Gelernter argues in his essay “Unplugged: The Myth of Computers in the Classroom” why computers will do more harm than good in educating todays tomorrow. Gelernter does not merely direct his argument toward teachers and professors, but he addresses parents and caregivers as well.…

Although Apple is not always the most popular, they’ve been a part of almost every major technical innovation since the start of the PC era. The book talks about the history of him and his best friend, Steve Wozniak, who together, started Apple Computers, the first company to release a successful personal computer. The book contains lots of extracts about everything leading up, all the development and research. When administrators provide laptops to students in the elementary classroom the technological experience helps prepare students for their future. “The use of technology in education provides students with technology literacy, information literacy, capacity for life-long learning and other skills necessary for the 21st century workplace” (Grinager 2). As the world evolves it becomes more dependent on technology. This dependence causes a need for children to learn how to use technology. The easiest way to teach students about technology is by providing each student with a laptop.…

The technological feature of any device is the most attractive and persuasive characteristics to any individual. The technology of a laptop and tablet are both phenomenal, but the power of a laptop outweighs the power of a tablet. A laptop is considered a mobile computer, which means its storage and R.A.M (random access memory) mirror a desktop computer, but in a smaller dimension. The importance of a device’s storage and RAM are very important to the performance and expectation of a device. The storage of a device is the storing of memory and data that is saved for future use, which is important to my classmate’s incomplete assignments and presentations.…
