There comes a time in every broke collage kid’s life where you get sick of cafeteria food. There is nothing wrong with it, you just can’t seem to make yourself go down to that dining hall and eat another slice of pizza. Being a broke collage kid comes with many hurtles to jump over. Can 't afford to take your significant other out for a nice meal? Macaroni and cheese can solve most of your problems. But why have just any old mac and cheese? Spruce it up a little. All you need to do is gather your ingredients and appliances, measure them out and follow the recipe. Here is an easy recipe that will have your taste buds jumping and make you forget about just how broke you really are.

First bring to boil six cups of water in a large saucepan. Once your water has come to a boil, add the macaroni noodles and cook for seven to eight minutes, or until the noodles are tender. A good rule of thumb is, if you can throw a noodle on the wall and it sticks, it 's done cooking. Make sure to stir occasionally, you don’t want the noodles to get stuck to the bottom of the pan. It 's not fun to clean up, trust me. While the noodles are cooking you can start to prepare the brats. You will want to cut them up about half an inch in thickness, that way they can cook and cool down faster, so you are not burning your tongue when you eat. If you are just making one box of macaroni and cheese three to four brats should be enough. Once your noodles are cooked to perfection you will need to drain them.
