The research examined 36 nursing professionals to determine their perceptions and clinical knowledge regarding MRSA. A comprehensive questionnaire was created to determine if the nurses met the minimal safety level of infection control for MRSA infections. The researchers concluded that MRSA training and education were the largest determinants among the nurses in taking preventative action against this progressing disease (Winbush, 2015). Also, it was determined that assessing the educational needs of correctional nurses is vital when composing infection control policies and procedures. This study emphasizes the significance of MRSA with in prison systems, because it highlights the impact that transmission of this infection can have nationally. As seen in the study, education about MRSA and training targeted towards its prevention and treatment are priority-nursing
