The situation discussed is that the company had apparently hidden the defects in their CCTV equipments from another company, Amitech, which happened to be MR Tech's prominent customer. Suyash was approached by Ankita Kukreja and was notified that Amitech was sold defective equipments. Suyash then discussed the findings with his boss and it was decided to let things go since it was in the past. This angered Ankita who then contacted the customer and shared her findings with them, which led to a huge loss for the company. Ankita was forced to take the extreme step as she had high ethics standards but this also showed her lack of emotional intelligence, since the step she took was out of impulse. Due to everything that had happened, Suyash's manager Kshitiz asked him to fire Ankita as he felt there was a certain disconnect in her emotional labor. I feel that Kshitiz knows that firing Ankita is going to the extreme, but because she has caused so much tension between workers that this would be the simplest way to solve the problem. This is where Suyash must take the role of a manager and do what he feels is best for both Ankita and MR Tech, which is to recommend that Ankita move away for a while.
Suyash, Ankita, and Kshitiz's actions, decisions, and behavior are all based on cognitive dissonance. Suyash and Ankita, more so than Kshitiz, felt that their locus of control lied outside and have uncomfortable feelings due to contradictory ideas. Many managers face cognitive dissonance everyday while fulfilling their responsibilities. To be moral and ethical about their decisions, a manager must put thoughts into what will be suitable for each employee as well as any supervisor above them who might think otherwise about their
