MMC210: Course Analysis

This semester I took a class that was new to me. I knew absolutely nothing about journalism coming into MMC2100. The most valuable assignments were the AP practices. Although I was frustrated because I bought the online access to the www.apstylebook.com which ended up not having page numbers for some assignments. In the end, the constant use of AP style helped make it come more natural for some bigger projects further along in the semester. I feel that all of our assignments were helpful to me, but if I had to choose a “least valuable” I might think that it is the Storify project. Each week was something new and fun and I never felt like I was “in a rut”. We moved at a good pace and it kept the class interesting. What I didn’t like about the course was that I felt it relied on the physical book or online copy of the book but I had gotten the AP stylebook website access which didn’t have a copy of the book but had what the book had but in a website form with a search bar and glossary so I could search my questions and quickly navigate it. I haven’t taken many online classes so I am unsure how this class compared to others or how to improve it for other online students. This class definitely met my expectations and exceeded it. When initially going into this class I thought I would be doing nothing but writing papers and stories, but having the smaller practice assignments where wonderful and interesting! After taking this course I definitely say I have a good understanding of AP style without needing my stylebook. I did not originally have any interest in journalism until I completed your photojournalism assignment. It was fun trying to get my photos at the right time and I am planning on maybe taking another course towards
