P: Charles will significantly reduce the frequency and intensity of temper outbursts as evidenced by no more than two disciplinary referrals per Nine Weeks.

A: MHP taught Charles self-control strategies. MHP taught effective communication and assertiveness skills to develop a better way to obtain approval through appropriate verbalizations and positive social behaviors. MHP and Charles played a social skills game to help develop positive social skills. MHP taught his parent how to observe and recognize positive and encourage him to continue to engage in the positive behaviors. MHP used family therapy sessions to explore the dynamics of disruptive and negative attention-seeking behaviors. MHP provided reinforcements for positive behavior.

He showed an adequate effort to participate in the session. Rapport was established and adequately maintained throughout the duration of the session. His mother stated that his teacher called about his behavior. Charles mentioned that he was acting out at school. He did not indicate what caused the negative behavior. He stated that he will do better with his behavior. He noted that his behavior is usually good at school. Charles seemed to enjoy learning the self-control strategies. He communicated a willingness to enhance his communication skills. He stated that he liked the social skills game.
