MDMA-Assisted Psycho-Therapy

I do believe MDMA has potential for therapeutic use. Even though, drugs can be dangerous but if there is research and potential use for medical situations, I would recommend drugs to be used for patients who needs it. However, this should be used carefully; therefore, doctors or pharmacists would need to keep check on the amount of drugs they are prescribing, such as MDMA. We would not want people abusing drugs or getting addicting. If they are getting better then doctors can find other alternatives (i.e. gym, yoga, and meditation). I believe this procedure should be incorporated for patients who are using prescription drugs. There are too many people who abuse drugs because it is prescribed by a doctor and they take advantage of their privilege. According to Mithoefer et al. So, this will keep MDMA from becoming mainstream. Honestly, I believe every drug that have been listed as threatening or risky and cannot be used for therapy is because people abuse them and have caused some type of harm or chaos. For example, using drugs while driving is more likely to cause a car accident, death, or injuring/killing a pedestrian. However, I believe if MDMA can help patients or people who are in the need of it, therapists should re-configure and practice therapeutic sessions. After all, you are not causing harm, you are helping people to reduce the symptoms of PTSD. As I have stated before, therapists should also do have daily check-ups on patients to avoid them getting addicted to MDMA. Patients can use it for a short term but should also practice other alternatives in the long run to avoid
