MDA Research Paper

MD is a disease that weakens your muscles and stops you from doing more things. I believe that scientists should work on finding a cure or do something to help for people with MD. If you help donate to Muscular Dystrophy Association you could help make more medicine to help people with MD. I will be talking about how MDA has events, about the association and what MD is. MDA holds a lot of events such as 5k walks/runs to help raise money for the people suffering this disease. Joining along in these 5k walks/runs gets the kids who have MD a team momentum. Team momentum is an endurance training program that works with MD children and adults. This program trains muscles how to get stronger instead of weaker. MDA golf tournaments is an event that helps people with this disease while you are having fun golfing. This golf tournament helps individuals live longer and grow stronger. MDA also has an event called Hop-A-Thon. Hop-A-Thon works with schools to provide hands on activities which help children learn what this disease does to your body. There are many MDA locations in Wisconsin the nearest to our location is Brookfield, WI. The CEO of this association is Kristine Welker. Kristine helps with the money that was raised and she tries to find medication to help people struggling feel better in some way. MDA’s headquarters is in Chicago, Illinois. That is where the donations go and the donations are what they make the medication with. This charity was started in June of 1950 and ever since then they have been trying to find a cure and medication for patients.
