MAS Observation Report

Decent Essays
The MAPS mission is to challenge and support students as they make the transition to college. It was created to increase the retention of minority students by providing them with professional, cultural, scholarship, and academic opportunities. MAPS students get the opportunity to get a head start on college. Students spend six weeks getting to know other students, faculty, the Kansas State University campus and their majors. The program offers up to six credit hours, which consists of chemistry or math, kinesiology, university experience, and participate in a college lab. They also take tours of industries around the Midwest and visit companies such as ConocoPhillips and Cargill. MAPS provides an opening into our Black Student Union and much
