Process Improvement Initiatives
1. When undergoing a process improvement initiative how important is it to use a process map and why?
It is important to use a process map when undergoing a process improvement initiative because it provides a visual module of the process steps that can be analyzed and evaluated to make process improvements. Mapping the series of activities required also provides a detailed illustration of how each components correlates to one another to create the processes in addition, to how the processes flow together. Documenting the process allows each step to be analyzed for inefficiencies in the process. The inefficiencies then can be revised and extraneous steps removed to improve the efficiency
