If the m4 and m16 rifles were not used today by our military imagine how different the U.S armed forces would seem. The M4 and M16 both contributed to the U.S armed forces amazingly and are still in use today ,still , most people cannot see a difference in between the two such as customization, accuracy, shooting and reliability. At first glance the M16 assault rifle and M4 carbine look similar they are almost exactly the same. If people look closer people learn this is not even close to true. As the standard infantry rifle of the Second World War, the Garand saw combat throughout theaters in Europe with the United States Army and especially in the Pacific with the United States Marine Corps. The major distinction of the M1 Garand series lay in the acceptance of the weapon system as the first self-loading rifle reaching operational status in the world. This occurred at a time when other national military forces were still relying on the tried and true, albeit slow-loading, bolt-action type rifles. The M1 Garand, however, was not only…

My reaction to this weeks assignment “Metallic Sights: Design and Application” is one of the areas of gunsmithing I am still timid in. When I first learned shooting with iron sights was when I entered the US Army on the M16A2. I was so scared having to zero my own rifle; I did not understand three clicks left two clicks down. Then having to regroup until the grouping was in a certain inch circle. It took me a long time to grasp the concept of zeroing, but eventually I got it.…

Guns are used all around the world, but here in the United States, we need to keep our gun usage limited with gun laws. Gun laws are put into action to make sure firearms are used responsibly; however, people will always find a way to break these laws no matter how many are made. Our Second Amendment, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, gives U.S. citizens the right to own a weapon and use it for the right reasons. Gun laws will not reduce the amount of gun deaths in the U.S. because gun laws do not determine crime; gun ownership determines crime numbers. There were 460,000 gun deaths in the U.S. between 1999-2013 and this was the 12th leading cause of death.…

Anti-gun activists argue that having stricter gun laws would prevent the people who aren’t legally allowed to get firearms from obtaining them and using them to commit violent crimes. They also claim that guns are weapons marketed to kill people with great speed and precision. But, none of this is true. Every day, millions of people find ways to get illegal things, whether it be drugs, guns, or money. Many of the weapons used in violent crimes today aren’t legally obtained in the first place, they are usually bought of somebody on the street who couldn’t even tell you where these weapons are coming from.…

While the German guns were fast the Canadian Guns were slow but accurate. The Canadian army wanted a gun that could place its shots accurately without the high rate of fire and recoil that came with the German guns, giving the Canadians an advantage. While a German submachine gun was able to fire with great speeds, the Canadians had accuracy on their sides as they could pick off enemy troops without wasting as much ammunition.…
