The Panama Papers
The Panama papers, a leak of 11 million files which contained financial and legal records, were leaked from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca. The German newspaper said it received documents from Mossack Fonseca from an anonymous source. They shared the information with International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and over the year they did some research. The products of that research were published and BBC reported the leak to about 12 heads of state including Syria’s president Bashar al-Assad.
