The small village of Umbria could not boast of much. Only one or two handfuls of families comprised its entirety, and they were a simple, unassuming people. They took from the land no more than it could rightfully give, and gave back what they could not use themselves. They were so far removed from the rest of Uslandria that they still held to the Old Ways. It served them well, and they saw no reason to change it. She had come to them many years ago, while she was still a child. Who she had been and where she had come from remained a mystery still, but it was one Lyria now accepted. What mattered was that they had found her, took her in, and when her abilities were discovered, she had become the Voice of the Goddess.
