Life Of The Birds Analysis

During this week I saw an episode of The life of the Birds presented by David Attenborough in which he showed the way which some birds have for catching the attention of a possible couple. Amongst all of them, he showed the lyrebird which seems to have more than 300 different sounds for that, and amongst those sounds there was one that sounded like the alarm of a car and other that sounded like a pneumatic drill, those which are utilized to break streets, all that while deployed the feathers of his gorgeous tail, without any doubt, his singing style doesn't go with his beautiful image. I was surprised to see it since I used to think the lyrebird was an extinct bird, fortunately, I was wrong. In another episode of the same series, he showed …show more content…
we'll see what happens, it hasn't been a good week, meteorologically speaking... Next Sunday, we should vote, but we won't do; we have declared ourselves in contempt, haha!!! Now seriously, there will be a legislative election next Sunday, but this will be the preliminary one, can you believe there will be a preliminary election to choose legislative charges? This happens only in this country! In some countries, politic parties make what we call "internal elections" (when several people present as candidates in a party but only one can be the candidate for it), that's not bad for people who belong to some political party, but, why is it forced to vote even who doesn't belong to any political party? This modality is called by them, "Open internal elections". People who don't vote must pay a fine that is not so expensive, soooo, we'll pay it, haha!! All this is really a charade and makes no sense, all them will compete again in October, and that will truly be the definitive choice. Meanwhile, there have been some suspicious and strange events as a letter-bomb that was sent to the office which will carry out the counting and that detonated injuring two employees, or the disappearance of a man who supposedly is a political activist and that certain groups as the human rights ones, some left wing groups, and peronists are reporting as a forced disappearance, I think that you know what I'm referring to... I think there's something strange in all this, as Shakespeare would say, "Something is rotten in Argentina...". As you can see, things are not easy here, Ken, well they never really were... Hope all is much better over

In a world as corrupt and broken as our own, there surface many important issues that people often find uncomfortable or controversial when discussed. Often people need a sort of safety blanket or window of separation to make them feel more comfortable when dealing with difficult topics. Helen Oyeyemi’s novel Boy, Snow, Bird deals with many different tendentious issues such as abuse, race, beauty, and mother daughter relationships, and many of these issues are blatantly illustrated throughout this story between different characters. Often more than one relationship deals with each of these issues, and they deal with more than one issue at a time.…

In the city of Maycomb, everyone knew each other and socialized together. But where I grew up, we really didn't talk with the people around us. I never walked around town for the fun of it or went on cool adventures where I lived like Jem and Scout. Nowadays I feel like people can’t walk around alone without having the feeling of getting kidnapped or killed. Back then things were more peaceful and society was different than it is now.…

    Voting System In Canada

Arguments are risen against compulsory; such as how it threatens the Human Rights, forcing citizens to vote for something they may or not know enough to vote on. Forcing somebody against their own will to vote, would not make any difference on the system, because voters would not take their time to read and search more about the parties running for leader. A Professor at Georgetown University’s, Jason Brennan says “[…]if we force everyone to vote, the electorate will become even more irrational and misinformed. The result: not only will the worse candidate on the ballot get a better shot at winning, but the candidates who make it on the ballot in the first place will be worse” (Adriana Portugal, 2014). Although it would increase the voter turnout, it would also damage the government as it is.…

Before dissecting the larger cycle found within A Plague of Doves, establishing how the cycle functions within the novel on a smaller scale becomes necessary. This stems from Shamengwa’s violin story illustrating how a simple object can span generations and time. This particular violin Shamengwa “…treated [with] the reverence we accord our drums, which are considered living beings and require from us food, water, shelter, and love (197). It is this same violin that is stolen in the night, with no trace of the criminal. The narrator of this story, Judge Coutts, fills in the details of the person who the reservation suspects of the crime, Corwin Peace, who becomes a major player in the completion of this cycle.…

For an outsider looking into the situation, it may not make very much sense. Clearly, voting is a very important right for a citizen to have, and if the citizens that have a strong opinion about a certain issue or candidate decide to not vote at all, they could be the reason an issue passes, even if the issue passing or candidate winning may not be the best one for a certain state or…

The way the birds come to him represents the naiveness and obedience of the ideal female. However, as the birds flutter down to him answering his calls without second thought, the protagonist is hesitant.…

Election day has been the same Tuesday every four years since 1845, strategically placed after the last harvest of the year, and before the first winter snow storm. This system worked out well, until the United States moved away from being a primarily agrarian society. Eventually, "the Tuesday next after the first Monday in the month of November” was no longer a convenient time of the year to hold elections because it lands directly in the middle of the work week. This is a huge concern because voter turnout and participation rate decreases due to this inconvenient timing. Most people simply do not or cannot take off a paid day of work to go vote, and instead elect to go after working hours, at the same time as everyone else who has the same idea.…
