When it comes to Lyon and Cory I believe Cory’s growth was more significant than Lyons. Cory was very adamant about his dream of becoming a footballer. He was so positive of the game that he ignored his father’s rules for being allowed to play and was heading for a path of uncertainty. She talked some sense to her husband whenever he told his tall tells. Rose was a very good mother to all she took care of everyone that needed her care. It is especially apparent with the way she handles Troy’s brother and Raynell when she came into her life, she never denied them the care they need. Rose was a simple woman she didn’t have crazy aspiration and didn’t ask for much. All she wanted was the happiness of her family and a good relationship. While her humbleness is her strength it is also her weakness. She doesn’t go out to find her dream and just takes what is thrown at her in life. She doesn’t stand up for herself and her wants. His is known for how well and hard he works for his family. As a husband Troy tried to do what was needed of him but he regrettably overlooked both of their feelings until it was too late and he found happiness elsewhere. Troy as a father only wants what is best for his kids. He is a hard person with hard morals and it seems that he doesn’t know how to express them in a more gentle way. He treats his boys in fear of not letting them suffer the way he did. When you look at troy as a friend he is an entertaining kind of man. He has a manner that attracts people to him that admire him for some of his aspects. The way Troy’s friend, Bruno, warns him to tell rose about his affair shows that he has much respect for troy yet cares enough to want his happiness.

I feel for troy the fence represent how his life has become it has slowly built up with hard work. I feel that troy might view the fence as an obstacle for him in that the fence is there to keep him trapped in a cycle of unhappiness and constantly working for other and not his enjoyment. For rose thought, I feel the fence is important to her. She loves her family dearly and wishes only the best for then. The fence is a way to keep them safe and by her. She does not wish for them to be separated and alienated the way her family was when she was growing
