Every manager completes the following function in the execution of his or her duties. The four functions are planning organizing, leading and controlling (Carpenter, Bauer, & Erdogan, 2009). The functions of organizing and planning are important for effectively carrying out of the subsequent functions of leading and controlling. She has to oversee the store’s inventory, purchasing and the supply of shoes. Further, she determines the need for hiring employees and plans for staff development. Lyndsey also has a role in financial management where she budgets and control cost to keep the store on a sound financial track. Lyndsey also has a goal setting role and establishing the policies for the departments that she manages, as well, facilitates communication between employees and departments.
In the execution of duty, Lyndsey uses various managerial skills. For instance, her computer and writing skills are used in financial management, goal setting and in the making of communications. Time management skills are very important to keep the store operating to her standards as operation manager. Human skills are paramount when working in a retail environment, are used utilized to insure that there is a balance in the performance of multiple tasks at once. Ability to organize and to be detail-oriented is another skill that keeps Lyndsey motivated in performing her role due to the pressure

The shoe warehouse stakeholders’ include the shareholders, employees, management, government, customers and the community. Lyndsey ensures that she identifies all the obligations that the company owes to each of the stakeholders after which she organizes the public relations of the company in a manner that all these obligations are met (Giacalone & Thompson, 2006). The primary stakeholders of the company are the shareholders, employees, and customers. The operations manager must ensure that the image of the company is maintained by the addition of value to the shareholders. Employees welfare and customer care services are also the role that this manager plays in some ways. On the other hand, the secondary stakeholders include the government and community. The community calls for social responsibility participation of the company. The operations manager has to direct on the social responsibilities of the organization.
