In acts II-IV Don John and Don Pedro suggest that making people’s lives harder or helping them make it easier is what motivates people to lie. When Don Pedro helps Claudio acquire Hero, Don John approaches Claudio at the ball pretending that Claudio is Benedick. Don John whispers to Claudio “He is enamoured on Hero I pray you dissuade him from her. She is no equal for his birth” (II i. 162-164). When the war was over, Claudio realizes he loves Hero. He liked Hero before, but he had to look at her in a soldier’s view and could do nothing at the moment being because he had larger problems than seeking around for love. At the ball, Don Pedro thought of a scheme to make himself look as if he were Claudio to attain Hero. When Don Pedro’s procedure was effectively done he whispered, “Here, Claudio, I have wooed in thy name, and fair Hero is won: I have broke with her father, and his good will obtained: name the day of marriage, and God give thee joy!” (II i.). It’s obvious that, Don Pedro made a good impact on Hero and Claudio’s lives by setting them to up together. After, Don John hears of Claudio’s approaching marriage he instantly thought about sabotaging it. He then pays Borachio to be in Hero’s room with Margaret to make seem like she's Hero. During this, Don John had the prince and Claudio were watching across the street. Don John managed to make Claudio expose Hero for her wrongs during their wedding the upcoming day to all eyes. After Claudio falsely accused Hero in front of everyone he madly shouts, “There, Leonato, take her back again: give not this rotten orange to your friend...Behold how like a maid she blushes here!” ( )It's clear that, Claudio
