Lying is acceptable if it creates more positive results than negative ones. For example,Teresa Velin, a mother in Palm Desert,California says she didn’t feel like getting dressed and going on a movie date. So,she told her friend she was busy,she thought it was better than ruining a friendship over a broken movie date(2). She told her friend she was busy because she didn’t want to go see a movie. It was a little white lie,but it created more positive results than bad ones(7). In article4 it says teens mirror behavior modeled before them. Therefore,they are like toddlers, they end up doing or saying what others say or do around them. Starting as a teen,they are trying to experiment,find out who they are,and trying to find their place in the huge world they live in. Teens will start doing things they usually wouldn’t do,so they can “fit in”,which is why lying fits into that category.
