Ludwig van Beethoven, known as Beethoven, has been counted as one of the most extraordinary music composers and pianist of all time. Many people praise his work, but only a few people wonder how his journey began. Johann Beethoven, father of Luwig van Beethoven, was the most influential reason his son took an interest in music. As Johann practiced with his son day and night, he quickly realized Luwig van was more talented than the average child. At the age of 7, Ludwig van Beethoven achieved his first performance at Cologne. This performance took place on March 26, 1778. The lessons with Johann became limited due to his addiction to alcohol. Later, Gottlob Neefe began teaching Beethoven music and philosophy as well. Ludwig learned to play …show more content…
He was recommended by Neefe to fulfill the position as the organist of the court of Maximillian Franz, the Elector of Cologne. Luwig was introduced to a new cluster of networks because of this position. Prince Franz sent Beethoven to Vienna to strengthen and further his musical education. He soon left and returned to his home to visit his dying mother who was also his best friend. She passed away on July 17, 1787. He was devastated but he learned to be at peace with his mother’s passing and returned to Vienna in 1792. Prince Elector gave him a grant for two years to complete his education in music. He was quite successful in Vienna due to him composing Opus I and did accomplished his first Vienna performance. Prince Kinsky, Archbishop Rudolph, and Prince Lobkowitz gave him a yearly grant of 4,000 florins. Because of the annual grant, Beethoven was known as the world’s first independent composer. This man was quite extraordinary within the composer industry. He is praised worldwide today for is extravagant work, but during the times when he was new to the industry, many people found his music strange or X-rated! These assumptions certainly make sense due to his passions of lust toward his students; even a secret letter filled with sexual desires was discovered.
