Love is both different and similar to lust. Though both are strong feelings of attraction, each hold different characteristics. While love is beautiful and passionate, lust is intense and fervid. This usually makes a relationship unhealthy and end in frustration and pain for both partners. If a person is in love, loyalty and faithfulness will ensue. The couple will rarely wonder about sex with other people and will not have back-up people to turn to. People who only feel lust will not want to solve arguments or compromise. Negotiation is usually only present where love is. People who are in love empathize, while those in lust do not. Lust has quite selfish characteristics as self-pleasure and a person’s personal needs are more valuable than the others.
