Lush Ethics

I chose the company is Lush. They are a cosmetic company with a focus on environmental awareness and ethical consumerism. To raise awareness of the environment, their products are packaging free. Their mission is to make the world better for “people, animals and the environment.” In the last several years they have surprisingly given away almost $6 million to environmental and other worthy causes. The CEO of Lush is Mark Constantine and Lush was founded in 1995 in the Poole, United Kingdom. The other founders are Liz Weir, Paul Greaves, Rowena Bird, Helen Ambrosen and Mo Constantine. As mentioned on the Lush website, “charitable giving is at the heart of our business. We believe it's our responsibility to advocate for the environment, animals …show more content…
Lush states clearly on their website that they don’t donate to groups or events that:
“Promote or support violence, aggression, prejudice or oppression towards others.”
“Deny the human rights of others.”
“Are involved in cruelty or subjugation of animals, including testing on animals for research or using animals for human gain such as those used in entertainment.”
“Force or coerce others to change their religious or spiritual beliefs.”
“Are political parties, rallies, or otherwise partisan

Being a college student, I personally wouldn’t buy their products for this reason. If given the opportunity I would be more than happy to try their products because I want to support the company since of their mission statement. One of their facial mostizers called, Skin’s Shangri La is one of their very popular products that costs $49.95 for 1.5 ounces. I feel this is very overpriced for what you get. I would rather pay $19.99 for Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel that comes with 1.7 ounces. I feel like most people will go for the cheaper option since they don’t want to pay more than double for something that does the job. I don’t feel Lush has many negatives since they are trying to make the world a better place. I wish more companies followed what Lush has done because I feel they are making a very strong impact on the

The ASHA ethics statement encompasses four different principles. The first principle states that individuals have a responsibility to help the people they treat professionally to the best of their ability and to treat all human and animal participants in research in a humane manner. This means that individuals should use every resource available and necessary to provide sound and quality service and that they need to have informed consent from those involved in research. Also, if an individual delegates tasks to anyone, the individuals performing these tasks must be appropriately certified, trained and supervised. Another part of the first principle is that they must protect and maintain the confidentiality of all services given.…
