The lunch provided by the school is not always the best choice. They have greasy pizza and unhealthy snacks such as chips and candy bars. So as a result students try to leave school for lunch and are risking their life due to lunch rush hour traffic. To resolve this issue the school should have restaurants like subway, chipotle, and or food that is fresh and appealing to the students.The food provided in the cafeteria does not benefit the students, and could become better if they included more fresh foods onto the menu. students do not like the food provided by the cafeteria and as a result they do not eat lunch. This is very dangerous due to the lunch rush hour traffic. In 2012, 60 perecent of deaths among passenger vehicle occupants ages 16-19 were drivers Teen drivers have a high accident rate so allowing them to leave school for lunch will only increase that number. The amount of time allotted for lunch at school is not enough time for a teen to drive safely for lunch. Therefore the teeangers will feel rushed in order to get back to school in time. One research effort shows teens are most likely to crash during three different times of the day: the hour before school, the hour after school, and lunchtime.Rushing to be the first to get off campus, flying through traffic, and a car full of students is the most dangerous predicament ever. A recent national survey from the anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength found more than half of teachers have used their own money to buy food for hungry students.The food produced by the school benefits some families and could benefit the students even more if they increased the natural nutrients in the food rather than it being processed. Many will counter my argument by stating that some children have bad allergies and are allergic to fresh foods. findings suggest that a significant number of children suffer their first severe allergic reaction while in school.
Taking the risk of giving a student unprocessed foods could increases the chance of allergic reactions. Due to the fact that some students are allergic to fresh produce. This risk is not worth taking and the school lunch menus should remain the same. The food in the cafeteria does not help the students. It only aids the companies who manufacture junk food and percentage of childhood obesity. To resolve this issue the school systems need to invest in actual cooks who understand nutritional value.
