Lunch In Elementary School

As a small child in elementary school I remember the excitement of lunch time recess, don’t you? “I’m hungry,” is an often heard phrase before and even after lunch in Sublette Middle School. Often times, right after lunch or a class later students say they are still hungry because they didn’t get enough to eat at lunch. Middle schoolers should get a larger lunch proportion because we are still growing, we are very active, and it helps us focus when our stomach is not growling. We should get a larger lunch proportion because we are still growing. Between the ages of 8 and 14 is when you grow the most in your life.…

Around sixty-seven percent of the people across the country believe schools should offer only nutritious drinks, such as white milk, water, and natural fruit juice, to students. I strongly agree that adding nutritious beverages to school lunches is a logical and reasonable idea. To begin with, when products are locally sourced, the local economy around the school will also receive a boost. Also, when a parent of a school student sends their child, or children, to school, they should not have the need to worry about the things that their kid may drink.…

Paige Alsup Here are somethings that I would change about the school lunches. I would start with homemade meals, then have like a pizza bar or salad bar, and the most important thing I would do would get a soda and gatorade machine. Here is the first thing I would do to fix the school lunches, I would make homemade meals. I would like homemade meals because as we all know most of the food we eat at school is heated up from packages. And we all know homemade meals are better than packaged food.…

Usually after this was done, we would quietly walk in a single file line down the hallway to the playground. That day, however, it was different. When I opened my eyes, instead of an orderly line of kindergartners, there was one little boy chaotically jumping up and down. As red in the face as a tomato, he seemed to be getting antsier by the second. “Teacher!…

When picturing school lunches, many people may think of greasy and oily food that is unappealing and unhealthy. Is this a reality, or just a fiction? There is large controversy over whether this view should be altered or not. About 19,000 schools in the United States currently serve fast food in their cafeteria. Since this food is cheaper to make, many schools may find it a better option than healthier lunches.…

Of course our great, happy, and healthy land of America shows of course some food being served that’s not really healthy at all. When I was growing up it was much worse than that. It make me real mad to think that our kids at schools are eating these types of lunches.…

Like all other meals, lunch is an important meal that we have everyday, mostly everyday it is consumed at school. The problems that I would like to address in my essay include the following; the limited amount of time we get to eat, the limited amount of portion sizes, the quality that is provided, and the amount of food that is wasted. Most frequent, students have a limited amount of time to eat their lunch, I think Lunch would be a more amusing and lively milieu if we could have more than 10 to 15 minutes to eat our lunch. I’m not saying that if this matter was relieved it would solve all of the complications that we have with our lunches, it would just be relieving some students of their empty tummies. IF we had more time to consume these…

But, in other times it could be soggy or very cold like I have had sometimes. Also, it says that the lunches are healthy of course the lunches are served with a side of veggies but the vegetables served with these meals are absolutely unacceptable they are really unappealing and they don't even taste like vegetables. I feel that although our school lunches are offered in several options which is good, but there are instances where the foods that they serve in are not the types of food that they we would like to eat.…

School lunches are not only having an effect on children’s health, but also on how children learn and perform in school. According to the American Journal of Public Health, “Studies show that in addition to socioeconomic status, obesity, poor nutrition, and food insufficiency affect a child 's school achievement. Specifically, students who experience food insufficiency may have lower math scores, social difficulties, and psychological difficulties” (646). These children tend to develop low self-esteem and anxiety disorders. Children that are suffering from obesity are more than often teased and face discrimination at school.…
