God called Luke’s father to send his son to Hillcrest. Luke’s father so told Luke that he wants him to attend Hillcrest. However, he didn’t want him to go to Hillcrest if it wasn’t his own decision. Luke worried about going to Hillcrest because he thought Hillcrest is too far away. So wishing his father will get off his back about it, Luke told him, “Alright Dad, how about I just pray about it?” Surprisingly, Luke felt called by God that he should attend Hillcrest. Furthermore, as he came to Hillcrest and found out more about the life in Hillcrest, he says “Before I came, my concern was that I get lesser quality of academics that I might be deprived in some way of something that I really love but, no, that has no bearing. I found that everything I enjoyed in Jamestown was in here Hillcrest.”
Luke Bowman didn’t have the best experience at Hillcrest during his visit day. As he noted, “I became really sick through the three days here in Hillcrest. I became so sick that I had a stomach flu. I had to lay on bed for most of the week. Everybody in the dorm, they kinda found out there was a sick kid staying in a room, ‘104’ so they all came and they kind of surrounded me and they gave me gifts such as Diet Pepsi and Pepto Bismol for my stomach.”
