Luke Aikins Skydiver

Freefall Luke Aikins is a professional skydiver who has achieved more than 18,000 jumps. He has also recorded aerial stunts for movies, (such as Iron Man 3 and Godzilla.) He mad history last July by jumping without a parachute from an altitude of 7,620 meters. He reached speeds of about 190 kilometers, (118 miles,) per hour. Another team of skydivers dived with him to record for a live TV broadcast.
Before he did the stunt, he had to make sure he could hit the net. He explained that when you jump out of a moving plane, the skydiver has a forward momentum. Momentum shows how difficult it is to stop a moving object. Aikins needed to guide himself into the net. During the jump, Aikins adjusted his path to go towards the net. Before he landed,
