Decent Essays
A person dove out of a plain at 25,000 feet without a parachute. His name is Luke Aikins a professional stunt diver. He has completed about 18,000 jumps. He also did stunt jumps for movies like Godzilla and Iron Man 3. But the jump he did was scary.
During the jump he went about 118 M.P.H. Their were other skydivers but they had parachutes. A few of the skydivers filmed for live television. It was about 2 minuets then he landed in the net safely. He had a custom net made so it would stretch when he hit it. It was made with special materials so it would make a soft landing and it wouldn’t break.
My scientific opinion is that he is smart about what he did. All the planning he did was worth it or he could've died. It was cool how he used the

Is Beowulf a hero or not? This is the big question that many want to answer. Although he didn't do all the heroic thing heroes would traditionally do doesn't mean he isn't a hero. This was my first time hearing the story and I wouldn't at first have called him a hero he just seemed like he was conceded. I guess people in the Anglo Saxons it was considered formal boasting therefore it was normal for people to be boasting about themselves and what they can do.…

The Columbia Claim Jumpers trailed the West Hills Falcons 82-80 with under 30 second to play Wednesday night on the road in Coalinga. Self-identity is a form of individuality that has been molded by the surroundings people enclose themselves with. Human beings are constantly interpreting who they are. The human mind is a stream of thought that is constantly churning in motion, while the evolution of the conscious awareness is a lifetime process of interpreting the world around us. Sherman Alexie, a Spokane-Coeur d'Alene American novelist, exemplifies the conflict of self-identity in his novel Flight, where he seeks to reveal the value of his ancestry from several tribes and render the importance of the daily challenges Native Americans face from within their history. Sherman Alexie was born on October 7, 1966, in Spokane, Washington.…

The traditional view of art has changed over time just as most things have. Naturally, the act of perception has differed opinions on what society considers as art. Dance, paintings, photography, drawings, music, literature, and sculpting, are what comes to mind when contemplating the aspects of art. The limitation to defining a word so opinionated leaves out room for self-expression. The traditional ideas of what is considered art should be broadened; granted, although not tangible, art can be seen through ambitions, emotions, and expression through appearances when not limited to the customary definition.…

After reading both of the stories “Uncle Marcos” and “To Fly” and looking through them, going through the details I have in my own opinion that “To Fly” has the best information and description rather than a more fictional story. I see in the story in the text that it describes flying as it has transformed the way we do things differently such as exploration, our perspective on things in the world, and we always had flying set as an achievement. I have a few reasons as to how I think “To Fly” has a better understanding of how it innovated humans and our actions. Before I do get to tell you bout my reasons I will tell you about what “Uncle Marcos” and “To Fly” are about, “Uncle Marcos’ is a story about a crazy, interesting, sporadic, and…

According to the FBI in their article “D.B. Cooper Redux,” they originally thought that Cooper was an experienced skydiver or perhaps even a paratrooper, but after a couple years they concluded that that was simply not true. 2.They believe that no experienced parachutist would have jumped in the night when it was raining with a 200 mile-an-hour wind in his face, wearing loafers and a trench coat, it would be too risky. 3.Cooper also didn’t notice that his reserve chute was only for training and had been sewn shut, something a skilled skydiver would have checked. His stance as he is falling is calm and composed, as if he has accepted the inevitable and is peacefully falling. There is very little distraction in the image from what is evident, causing you to not be able to stray away from the horrific event frozen in time, apart from feel the emotion the photographer intended. In the film from the article called ‘The Story Behind the Haunting 9/11 Photo of a Man falling from the Twin Towers’ written by Times Magazine, Drew says ‘Journalists don’t run away from the falling building we don’t run away from fire we run to it, because it’s our job to record history’. I think this quote perfectly sums up what documentary photography has always been about through history, the documenting and sharing of historical events that we can forever look upon and remember, despite the fact that it can cause increased controversy from every photo and…
