Genetic engineering is a variety of techniques that cut up and combine different genetic material to create or change a characteristic. Frankenstein used the same technique where he cut up and combined different body parts to create the monster.

He then begun to research, study, and even begun to collect body parts and eventually created the monster. Victor is horrified by the monster’s hideous appearance and is ashamed that he created him. Victor plans on leaving to Geneva where the rest of his family are and leaving the monster behind. Before he departs, he receives a letter from his father stating that Victor’s younger brother, William, has died. Victor hurries to Geneva and is convinced the monster is the murderer. He becomes fascinated with science and creating life that he plays God and creates a monster. The monster is hideous and Victor becomes ashamed of him.
The Monster: Created by Victor Frankenstein. The monster desires to be like the “pretty people” and attempts to fit in with a family who ultimately rejects him. The monster wishes to get his revenge on Victor for creating him to be the hideous monster he is.
Robert Walton: Comes across Victor while Victor is wondering around in the Artic. Walton takes care of Victor who is cold and sick. He listens to Victor tell the story of how he created the monster and the events that followed. He writes letters to his sister because he does not have other friends.
