The most influential composer thus far in this course is Ludwig van Beethoven in my opinion. Beethoven only lived to the young age of fifty-six but was very much revered at the time of his death. Beethoven’s musical performances began as early as the age of eleven but just in his twenties he began to lose his hearing however, he never stopped working to achieve his artistic goal even with this affliction. For Beethoven, the goal was to make the listener feel an emotion while listening to his music. He was considered a master of the large scale forms (Sonata and Symphony) Another factor of his influence is that his music composition covered three periods. This fact alone is an impressive feat that is not easily accomplished,
