UNIV 1231 FINAL EXAM As a first year student in my first semester in a university I’m so glad I took this class. Not only did I learn things to help throughout my school year, but also in my future in the real world. Professor Buggs did an amazing job at teaching and communicating with us on a level where we could understand, and be relatable. This was a year full of change and with so much going on it was nice being in a class where I could relate to others and also meet new people. And I learned many things that I can take away from this class on how to do well in college, learn how to deal with the real world, and fixing habits to better myself.

The most relatable and the path to lead me to succeed while my doing my Bachelors were some things I learned in this class. I learned the different ways to obtain information and my study styles that will help me with my skills to excel in school. As a visual person I can see myself learning things by looking at them and some aid are drawings, watching helpful videos, and creating flashcards to help me retain the information I need to do well in a class. Along with this I learned the

I need to learn time management, and we went over this in class. The time management lesson and take home lesson about what we did over the week helped so much and actually made me more aware of the things and where my time is going. I need to also get into the habit of making time to help others more often. Whether it’s with local volunteering opportunities or helping on campus, but I hope to make a change and what a better time to start then right now. From Sonia Sotomayar’s book “My Beloved World” I learned the key to her success was positivity and not giving up. These are the two key things I’m keeping in mind as I grow more as a person, and experience

I hope that I will get more opportunities in learning how to reach more content areas across the curriculum, so I will have a solid foundation when I bring it into my classroom. One thing I struggle with is using multiple TEKS to one lesson. I really hope that I will be provided with practice in the classroom so when I am a teacher it will not be such a struggle. Once I am finished student teaching, I plan to devote my first year of teaching to finding effective lessons that can easily be accessed again throughout the year. I felt that it helped the students when their mind was constantly reminded of what they previously learned.…

For a student like my self this class could be seen as not necessary but for students just starting at GTCC this class would be very helpful and in the long run even time saving. Not only does this class teach students how to navigate through GTCC’s many websites it also helps students plan out there future at GTCC and beyond. If I had had this class my first semester I would have had a better understanding of the classes I needed and I probably would have graduated last spring. Another aspect of the course is explaining the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) and how it works and applies to the individual, which is quite important when you go to transfer. This class helps you understand the college system in a lot more detail and explains and helps the students navigate through it allowing for a more seamless…

Being in phys-ed for my first placement the evaluation was spread out between rubrics, self-assessments, checklists, and tests. My main experience with evaluation came at the end of a CPR unit where I had both a written test and a practical test. On the written test I provided a variety of types of questions to appeal to different students and on the practical portion they were in partners. Overall both were very well done by the students which hopefully reflects that I did a good job teaching the material and catering the tests to the topics I taught. I look forward to my next placement hopefully in a formal classroom setting to help me get a bit more experience with…

I also feel I have potential in this area due to my desire for continuous learning. Going back to graduate school has allowed me find my love for researching topics related to education.…

Student management starts with considered seating charts and ends with detailed management plans on classroom expectations, as well as crises and action plans. Being prepared for emergencies and behavioral problems is far easier when you have a plan. I believe I am proficient in this area. This course has been my first clinical class since I started my degree, so all of what I read and learned can be used everyday. The behavior management policies seemed ungraspable at first, but practical use and applying it to what I knew about my students helped it sink in, with practical…

Over the course of the semester, I have learned all of the skills necessary to excel in school and college. Some of the most important things I have learned were how to manage time and how to be an active reader. Before learning how to manage my time, I would easily get distracted and procrastinate but now I have learned how to get everything done in a timely manner. Also, before the course I would struggle to comprehend what my textbook said but thanks to the course, I now spend the time to reevaluate what I am reading to fully understand the material. Other helpful lessons I have learned from this class were how to take good, helpful notes and what kind of learner I am.…

English 219 was my first college level English course, and through attending and completing all of the assignments I have learned many skills that I believe will greatly help me in my future courses in college. Next semester I am enrolled in English 220, and after having taken this course I feel substantially better about continuing on with English courses at a college level. It has helped me to become more confident in my writing skills and provided me with an excellent basis for me to continue on with next semester, and throughout the rest of my schooling experience. Throughout this class I have learned many things, but perhaps the most important is the steps to writing an essay, and the planning options. Before English 219 I often did not…

I expect to use professional communication at all times and always be in the loop with teachers, so I can always have a solution to a problem or if I have a question about something. Students need to know why it is important to learn what I am teaching them and how it can empower their education. I will get better at communicating with parents and staff because I will constantly be providing feedback about students and myself to them. Conducting conferences with students and the school’s staff will mold me into a master teacher as the years come by. My mentor tells me that without communication there would be gaps and that is not a good aspect of your teaching path.…
