Hey Shawn, i agree with most of what you said, Lt. Jimmy cross definitely was a weak leader. As a leader you should know how to lead your group/soldiers and always put the task at hand first, which was the war but instead he was caught up in a imaginary love relationship with Marta.Seems like he came to his sense's a little after the death of Ted Lavender, this incident struck him pretty hard even though Lavender was not the only to die from his group. At the moment of the incident Lt. Cross was caught up in dream land, which I think brought him back to reality a little bit after Lavenders death. Even thought Lt. Cross burns all the letters and photos from Martha in attempt to convince himself his mind was back in the war. I believe after that
