The greatest story ever told about one’s self is one of pure transparency and honesty. I can say that in my twenty-four years of living, I could never have foreseen experiences and obstacles I would have had to overcome. Summer of 1998, I traveled for the first time on a plane to the United States. My fathers side of the family had already left the country years prior to get settled and get affairs in order for us who were still back in Haiti. Bright eyed, six year-old from Haiti, I had no idea the plans God had in store for me. See, we hope and pray that all the best will come to us in life. However, to grow, one must truly go through tough experiences. I have been dealt difficult circumstances in my life and sometimes I have let that keep me down. It is not my intention to seek excuses for my LSAT score but I would like to bring it to your attention and provide added information to better assist in understanding my score.I have never tested well on standardized tests. I have been in this predicament whilst taking my SAT/ACT for college admission. My scores on both the SAT/ACT were not very high. Although I did not do well on those tests, I persevered and later graduated from an outstanding university. I take pride in my studies and I want to express my LSAT score is not indicative of my capabilities. As well, unfortunately, about a year ago my father fell ill and was diagnosed with cancer. Between working full-time and helping to care for my family, I was very limited in study time for the LSAT. Any and all free time I had was dedicated to studying for the exam. I studied for this exam with great intentions and as much preparation with time allotted. Please consider this information while assessing my application.
