Lp's Prized Quizzes

Decent Essays
The downside of LP's prized quizzes was the fact that the prizes offered in most of the quizzes were either fake or nonexistant. LP decided to use cardboard to make most of his prizes, resulting in disappointment when the winner received it. Quiz 10 offers the worst prize overall, which was the VIP access to LP's space station. It might sound amusing at first, but the problem is LP doesn't own a space station, not even an online version of it, increasing the chance of LP's quiz production to cease

The factors that go into a monument should be: to have a historic event or person to memorialize, provide insight on the event, provide remembrance to the ones involved, and even memorialize a stoic figure. With the picture of Christopher Columbus staring into the distance, it allows the observer to recall the past and look into the future. The picture may seem to have no purpose, but the lineage behind Columbus’ name is one of the most well known in United States history (Source B).…

Indeed, quiz show provides a feeling of everyone has equal opportunities to win no matter what job, talent, class, gender or race they are through doing same quizzes. As Holmes has argued about Fiske's explanation of games and rituals, games separate out winners from contestants as different, but rituals bringing different individuals in same levels and implying commonality (2008, p.93). In Mastermind, rituals fill in that idea by reducing individual's differences and make them compete at same starting line as equal competitor. For example, the host askes each contestant's name, job and the specialist area they choose to do the quiz before they start to answer, and tells competitors that each of them have equal time to answer the quizzes which…

Robbie Aud LSEM 19 Longwood Seminar Paper The Longwood Seminar encourages self-sufficiency, personal responsibility and citizen leadership. I like that Longwood stresses and teaches these three concepts because it definitely betters the school in many ways. The transition from high school to this University is unreal. It is hard to explain but I can put it like this, Longwood is much more of a tight-knit community and I seriously believe that it because of the concepts that the seminar both encourages and teaches.…

Soldiers at Valley Forge endured harsh conditions in order for the new nation to gain independence from the British. Soldiers had to decide whether or not to run away before their term of enlistment was complete or stay and fight the British. Despite the extreme difficulties of inadequate shelter, clothing, and food, soldiers in Washington's army had a duty to stay at Valley Forge. Washington overcame the difficulties by bringing a congressional committee to help supply the soldiers, by fostering a positive atmosphere at camp, and by making soldiers aware of how they were needed, after so many others had become sick or had died. First, soldiers at Valley Forge should have stayed because Washington brought the Congressional Committee…

Getting practice using the techniques we have been learning in real time, with a real person, made the content more concrete.
