I believe sanction means there are rules within in a set of rules or maybe discipline actions to be taken against a nurse for doing something they are not supposed to. To be honest I am really not positive on this one. The first guideline to sanctions are applying these rules. This section just states who will apply the sanction and in what manner they will apply the sanction. The second sanction if selecting the sanction. These means that the punishment will be selected for the crime including revoking of one’s license, suspension of one’s license, or some type of remediation class to ensure the public’s safety. The last guideline is using sanction schedules which just shows the process of proving guilt and then selecting the appropriate punishment for the crime. They have a tier system set up depending on how much harm was caused to a patient.
