At the end of high school, financial hardships at home forced me to take a serious look at how my undergraduate career was going to be paid for. I decided to accept a full scholarship to the College of DuPage where I worked hard, received strong grades, and earned a scholarship to Loyola University Chicago. I am incredibly grateful that my family was eventually able to assist me in paying for school, but without first attending community college and receiving a scholarship to Loyola, I would not be in this position today. I believe that my dedication and determination that were required in this journey are qualities that will be a great contribution to the learning community at Saint Louis University.
