Although it does not seem like the best alternative, it is smart. Sohrab knows that Assef will hurt him more if he tries to get away, and possibly hurt others that he knows. This loss of innocence transforms Sohrab’s mind, and he stops talking. When Amir and Soraya take him in, not filling the room with his voice, but filling it with silence. The worst kind of voice to hear. When Amir told him he might have to go back to an orphanage, all of that trust faded away. He showed the same loyalty as he did with Assef, by not fighting back. The common consensus is if a book is converted into a movie, then the movie will be essentially a disappointment. In The Kite Runner, director Marc Forster’s version falls just short of the original novel by Khaled Hosseini. With removed scenes, themes and emotional ties to characters, the differences between the book and the movie are too great to claim Forster a succes. In the movie, The Kite Runner, significant scenes such as Sohrab’s suicide attempt, Amir’s relationship with Soraya and the bagger in Kabul are change or deleted, affecting the reader 's view, understanding and feeling towards the original rendition of the novel.…

The lack of a common interest is one reason Amir and his father never bonded emotionally. Amir has also faced life long guilt after his mother dies while giving birth to him. This tragedy is haunting to Amir and causes him to believe that Baba resents him for the death of, “ his [father’s] beloved wife, his beautiful princess,” which makes Amir feel even more detached from his father Baba (Hosseini 19). Amir’s feelings of alienation are amplified because of Baba’s close relationship with Hassan.…
