They didn’t like the way the group treated them so they had a plan to run away from the group to live on their own again. They tried to escape but only jamal and salim could make it out, while latika didn’t make it out. After then escaped they ended up at the taj mahal. They made money by acting like they were tour guides and telling people what the thought or new about the taj mahal.
Years later Jamal got a chance to be on who wants to millionaire as he rolled through the questions answering them right. The last question about to be asked be at that time it was the end of the show. Right after the show the host of the game had people capture him and take him to the police saying that he was cheating. Jamal told them that it does not take a genius to answer the question right. He just remembers the events in his life that something about the question came up. Before the show they let him finish the game after realizing that he was cheating.
