Ariana O’Neal and Davon Smallwood both ended their lives together by jumping in front of a speeding train because their relationship was not approved by others. This tragedy shows the extent of what lovers with extreme loyalty and passion will do for one another. In often cases loyalty can lead to the demise of a beautiful relationship.
Similar to Romeo and Juliet, the relationship between the lovers began with disapproval from the parents of both families. But regardless of disapproval both lovers continued with their affair. In Zeffirelli 's film, we can see their first extension of loyalty where Romeo refuses to accept Tybalt’s challenge to an affair of honor in front of everyone. Tybalt enters the courtyard and sees Romeo walking down the steps and presses him immediately and Romeo states,
