They have a Bluetooth system that will read messages and let the drivers reply, listen to voice commands, call people, etc, all with the pleasure of not having to touch their phone. Some cars can even restrict phone use while driving. But even though these cars are readily available, they are not widely used. Teens become so engulfed in their phones and social media, that with one ding of the phone, it sends them staring down at the screen checking to see what the notification was about. Teenagers are faced with a lot of distractions when they are driving and are tempted by these. Passengers in a car also pose a big threat. Teens do not have enough experience to be driving with passengers. They distract the driver from the road in front of them and the teen driver does not focus on the vehicle he is driving. There are so many distractions in and around the vehicle (phones, passengers, air controls, inability to find a control, etc) and teenagers have a hard time ignoring them. The interactions with passengers and the use of cell phones are not the only causes of crashes from distractions.
