Lower income background can be related to poverty which people are not able to meet the basic needs such as food, clothing and home. By relating to conflict theory on poverty is that social stratification is dysfunctional and harmful in a society. It is because the rich which is the upper-class people will get more benefits and being the powerful one in the society. The poor, which is the lower-class people will be in a disadvantage position as they are not able to get what they want where the upper-class people do.
