After researching how far Lowell, Indiana was from Washington DC, Virgina I found that it was 690.7 miles away. Using the distance velocity and time chart I figured if you were going a minimum of 80 miles per hour it woud take about 9 hours and 3 minutes to get there. To find out how long it took to get there I divided the miles it takes to get there (690.7) by the miles per hour (80) and got the number 8.63. There are 60 minutes in a hour so I transered the 63 minutes into 9 hours and had 3 minutes left over. Thats how I got the time it would take to get there. I then figured out the time I would have to leave to be there at 7pm because I would also want time to find parking,set up for the dinner meeting, find the resturant and be on time.
