As the daughter of parents who love to travel, I’ve had the pleasure of travelling across Canada and America as well as a few other countries from a young age. I have visited the loud and bustling streets of Tokyo and the ethereal gardens in Kyoto, stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon, walked the strip in Las Vegas, and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean in Martha’s Vineyard. Although I should be able to look back on a childhood filled with events and memories from trips, I find it difficult to recall most vacations without a visual prompt. When I flip through old family photo albums, I don’t recall much more than what is shown in their pages. The outdated clothing, the people, and the locations are seen in the images, and therefore…

Ferry Beach State Park is located in Saco Maine, between Old Orchard Beach and Camp Ellis. The park is nestled on 117 acres of beautiful land ranging from forested areas with luscious trees, to white sand beaches. One of the most popular draws to the park are the hiking trails where you can spend an afternoon taking in the awe inspiring views of the different eco systems that have made themselves at home and flourished. The trails are littered with man-made bridges that perch you above the floor of the park where you can look over all the different types of plants, and moss that lay on the floor. You are eye level with most of the shrubs and have a beautiful elevated look of the trees where you can see more of the detail than you would with being on the ground.…

The words “Bourne Bridge: 1933 – 1935,” with an orchestra of car horns in the background, are forever engrained in my head, for they mark the start of an always memorable experience. For as long as I can remember, I have had the privelege of spending my summers in New Silver Beach (North Falmouth, MA). New Silver Beach is a sentimental place to me, whose legacy began with my grandparents purchasing a small cottage when my father was just a boy. My father reveres the community so highly that he and my mother work very hard to allow me the opportunity to experience it myself. New Silver Beach has served as second home to me, fostering my development as an individual.…

The "obscure" place I chose to write about is called Fier's Ship House in Albania, and I specifically chose this location because I actually grew up going to this boat a lot with my grandmother. In Albania, you can see around 7 of these boats that have been permanently left on the shallows of the beaches just by walking down the shoreline for 20 minutes. They're very beautiful and big boats, one I specifically remember had carnival rides on it, being so young that one was my favorite so my grandmother and I went there often when my family visited Albania. I didn't just decide to talk about these boats because I've been there before, but because a great majority of the memories I have of my grandmother are made up by these hour long adventures…
