Professor Elwood believes that taking a low-dose of aspirin with other cancer treatment can reduce cancer. The only concerned is if taking a low-dose of aspirin a doctor must check if there is no bleeding or intestinal bleeding. Patients with bowel, breast or prostate cancer have a 15-20% chance at living and cure some of the cancer. As Elwood's team tries to support their evidence on how low-dose of aspirin with cancer treatment. Can stop cancer from spreading and reduce some of the cancer. As I read the title, I was intrigued on how aspirin could increase the chance of survival in cancer patients. I learned that anything can be the cure for cancer because if aspirin can help people survive it, somewhere out there something can cure it.

Task 3 P1 When using thin layer chromatography (TLC) to test for purity of aspirin it is a quick and simple method. Firstly when using the TLC method you need to have a TLC sheet and mark on the sheet 0.5cm up on the sheet and draw a line, make sure you don’t press too hard on the paper as this will disrupt the absorbent on the paper. You need to make sure the samples have been marked on the paper so you don’t get mixed up and leave a gap between the aspirin samples so they don’t run together as this will give an inaccurate result. Next get a 1% concentrated sample of a known purity of salicylic acid as this is suitable for the TLC analysis, then obtain a small glass rod (micro capillary) and use this to dip in the solution and on to the paper in the position where the sample of aspirin is named.…

Continually, with a wide range of types, a not-so-long list of treatment options, and no definite cure, cancer embodies evil. If society embraces this evil as it is, no improvements will occur. Nonetheless, opening the eyes of humanity to other options than what appears on the surface is a large factor in future cancer success rates. Optimism is the cause of an increase of successful cancer treatments because of several causal chain arguments.…

Joe Dangor reported the results of a case study that was done on how life expectancy plays out when using chemotherapy after radiation as opposed to radiation by itself in those adults who have low-grade gliomas . Those patients who received the drugs after radiation lived an average of 5.5 years longer than those who did not. All together they determined it was better to add the chemotherapy at the end to boost the lives of all the men and women. The experiment that these people did provides great insight on the ways that each treatment can effect a particular type of cancer. This study can go to prove that the use of chemotherapy can actually boost the performance level of radiation exponentially and provide a greater life for those who are effected by the disease.…
