Loving Leah is a movie that follows a young man and women as they deal with the levirate law in today’s society. The movie has two main characters, Jake Lever, a doctor who does not take much interest in his Jewish background and Leah Lever, who is the widow of Jake’s brother, Benjamin. Unlike Jake, Leah is a very conservative Jewish woman. Throughout the movie, you see what it’s like to live as a Jew in America.
The movie starts out with Jake, he is seen working in a hospital. While taking a break, Jake falls asleep and dreams of his brother. Not long after he gets a call that his brother has passed away.
